Referral Coordinator

The Robert C. Byrd Clinic, Lewisburg West Virginia

Assist patients in scheduling and obtaining medically appropriate services within or outside of Robert C. Byrd Clinic. Expedite the administrative requirements for patient referrals, ensuring that appropriate referrals are made, prior authorizations are obtained, and patients are notified of appointments. Act as a resource regarding referrals and insurance plan guidelines to expedite the referral process, and act as a liaison between providers and patients.

Position Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required. Excellent computer skills required. Knowledge of medical terminology required. Strong communication skills required.

Experience: One year of related experience in a medical setting preferred. Experience with preauthorization, and knowledge about the regulations of various payer sources highly preferred.

Registered Nurse (RN)

The Robert C. Byrd Clinic, Lewisburg West Virginia

The Robert C. Byrd Clinic, on the campus of the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse (RN) to assist physicians and other nurses in the care of patients in a clinic setting.

Position Purpose: Apply skills and techniques of registered nursing. Provide leadership for nursing staff in assigned area. Function as an integral member of the interdisciplinary care team in providing the highest quality of care to patients.

Position Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited RN program. Strong clinical and computer skills are required, as well as excellent communication skills and understanding of patient health care. Demonstrated leadership skills.

Experience: Two years of experience as an RN in a primary care setting strongly preferred

Licenses/Certifications: Valid West Virginia RN License; Current Basic Life Support Certification

• Work collaboratively in a collegial multi-specialty group of 30+ active medical providers providing a full range of primary care services for all age groups

• Full-time, outpatient opportunity with optional hospital privileges

• Uses Athena EHR

• Clinic hours are Monday through Friday with limited Saturdays

• Call coverage: one full week rotation approximately every 6-8 weeks (low volume); on-call physician provides Saturday morning clinic hours

• Clinic hours are Monday through Friday with limited Saturdays

• Call coverage: Pediatric providers are on call one night per week (low volume and phone call only). In addition, pediatric providers rotate weekend call (Friday evening through Monday morning) every 4-5 weeks. The weekend on-call physician provides Saturday morning clinic hours (9 a.m. - noon).
